Prodigious Pop Culture Portraits

It’s rare for an unknown artist to suddenly burst onto the scene, but such is the case with Ratscape. His stunning work featured prominently in the Save Farscape campaign. His bold, vector based character portraits — with broad swathes of solid colors — elegantly captured nearly every figure that appeared on the popular science fiction show.

Now, after more than a decade, Arne has evolved and expanded his meticulous signature style, and widened his focus to more genre properties and celebrity portraits. Several stylistic series simply feature collections of beautiful women from television and movie fame, but Rosario Dawson may hold a special place in his heart… she shows up quite frequently. Other areas of Ratscape’s gallery celebrate the worlds of Battlestar Galactica, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Game of Thrones, as well as representatives from both the Marvel and DC superhero stable.

Time has been kind to that first incredible run of Farscape portraits, and Arne has only gotten better at capturing nearly any character that meets at the intersection of science fiction and fantasy pop culture. You’re certain to find your favorite within his extensive gallery, even by some strange quirk it happens not to be Ms. Dawson.
