A large tree fell the right way on my parent’s property, taking out another equally large tree next to it. After taking lots of pictures of the wreckage, I noticed this single leaf stuck in a long spiderweb.

Beach erosion and unusually high tides most likely created this small bay/lake/whatever, but most folks at the beach didn’t bother to cross it before dropping their chairs, buckets and umbrellas.

The remaining chunk of the sign read along the bottom: “[WARNING: UNAUTHORIZ]ED REMOVAL, DAMAGING OR DEFACING THIS SIGN IS A VIOLATION [OF THE COU]NTY CODE AND PUNISHABLE BY A FINE OF UP TO $1000.”

I’m sure the county worker who shredded it will be brought to justice.
