Origins 2006 Art Show Report

This year’s Origins Art Show just wrapped up, and you couldn’t swing a dead pokemon without hitting many awe-inspiring fantasy art pieces. Artist Guest of Honor Steve Prescott’s “Tiamat” was voted Dragon Magazine’s best cover, and judges picked their favorites:

“Four Seasons” by Brian Miskelley - Best in Show.
“Wizards, Warriors and Rouges” by Veronica V. Jones - Best Fantasy Work.
“Metaverse Confrontation” by Robert Scott - Best Color Work.
“Faceless Piper” by Andy Hopp - Best Monochromatic Work.
“Kokujin’s Daisho” by Charles Urbach - Best Game-Related Work
“Alien Anatomy” by Rhonda Libbey - Best Science Fiction Work.
“I See France” by Kay Steele - Best Historical Work.
“Cissy” by Ren Hastings - Best 3-D Work
“Geisha Blossoms” by Heather Kreiter - Best Contemporary Work.

Equally compelling visions were crafted by Aaron Acevedo, Michael Conley, Jason Engle, Doug Kovacs, Jeffrey Paul Prescott, Julia Sprenz, Tony Steele, and Susan Van Camp.

Michel Bohbot, Topaz Campbell, Dan Cortopassi, Theresa Mather, Nigel Sade, Tusk Stevens, Alain Viesca, Donna Waltz, and Megumi Soleh Yamada simply let their creations speak for themselves.
