Frank Kelly Freas Remembered

Frank Kelly Freas. We have lost one of the most influential illustrators of the 20th century. From the Frank Kelly Freas site: "It is with the deepest regret that we report that Kelly departed this world peacefully in his sleep at 4:46 a.m. January 2, 2005."

Mr. Freas will be remembered as the foremost science fiction and fantasy illustrator of the movement’s golden age. He gave masterful form to mighty heroes and bizarre creatures alike, and for over fifty years, expertly realized the visions of Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, and many more.

What a long, strange trip it’s been.
