Caroline Eade’s stock in trade is the charismatic, enigmatic fantasy warrior, cloaked in rich, somber hues and wielding a mighty weapon. Her women are willowy visions of unsettling poise and fierce determination, and her men are large, smoldering hunks of muscle and steel.
There are a few menacing creatures here as well, but they all possess a core element of humanity and grace, even as the lunge and thrust their way beyond the frame of her images.
Should these monsters escape altogether, I’m sure Ms. Eade will simply create an even more impressive adversary to track them down, and return them to her world of epic fantasy.
